ABOUT ABOUT

Causeacon is entering into its 7th year as Beckley West Virginia’s premier pop culture convention which brings people of all fandoms together in a safe environment to cosplay, play games, mingle and connect with one another. It combines the best aspects of traditional conventions with gaming tournaments, panels, special guests, formal balls and more activities, and the best part about Causeacon is that you can be a part of it.

Most Pop Culture Conventions close to Beckley are 2-3 hours away, so this convention provides a safe place for our community to gather together in our own backyard. This convention not only benefits Raleigh County but will pull others from Bluefield, Lewisburg and the Charleston area. The event also gathers attendees from out of state and serves about 2000 attendees each year.

Causeacon is a nonprofit convention in which all of their proceeds will be donated to the AWAY (Advocating a Way for Adults and Youth, formerly the Women’s Resource Center) right here in Beckley. The con will be providing entertainment panels as well as educational classes with topics including bullying, body image, sexual violence and dating violence. It is our goal to create awareness for this community and provide knowledge to help people avoid dangerous situations, even before they happen, as well as giving them the tools and assistance to get out of those situations. Teaching them to recognize different types of abuse and abusive behaviors.

Causeacon offers different levels of themed sponsorships with coordinating media, event and community exposure, so you can decide what best fits your needs. All sponsorship’s and in-kind donations for Causeacon are tax-deductible and directly benefit a local non-profit, AWAY and their mission to eliminate personal, institutional, and cultural violence against women, children, and men in our community and to provide safety and quality emergency intervention., advocacy, prevention, and education services for victims and witnesses of domestic and/or sexual violence.
